Major Retail Scheme on Holiday Island for Yorkshire Construction company
Yorkshire-based PDR Construction has moved south for the summer season to start work on a multi-million pound scheme on the Isle of Wight. PDR has been contracted by developer Halladale to build a new £6m retail centre incorporating a transport interchange and offices in the capital, Newport.
The 65,000 sq ft scheme comprises four large retail units housed in a glass-fronted building. Work is expected to start on site shortly and is due for completion in late summer 2006.
Commenting, PDR's John White, Procurement Director, said: “This is a major redevelopment in a busy city centre which will attract new retailers and create a modern transport interchange. We are excited to be on board with the development which will have a positive impact for the local people as well as for the tourist industry in the area.”
